Pricing

What you pay for. And what you get.

Pricing is on request — not because we are coy about it, but because the right answer depends on what you are trying to do.

The logic behind
how we price.

Volt Sail programmes are priced by duration, trip type, and whether you are booking a whole boat or joining as an individual on a shared departure. A three-day Extended Sea Trial costs differently from a ten-day Cruising trip. A solo sailor joining an existing departure costs differently from a group booking the whole boat.

What does not change: the coaching is included, the boat is included, and the experience does not vary based on what you paid. There is no premium tier that gets you more attention from the coach.

To get an accurate quote, we need to know what you want to do, how many people, and roughly when. The enquiry form asks exactly those questions — fill it in and we will come back with a clear number.

How pricing varies by programme

Cruising

Priced by duration (5–10 days) and whether you are booking the whole boat or individual berths. Shoulder season is typically lower than peak summer. The Mediterranean and Canary Islands are priced equivalently.

Transits

Priced by route and whether you are booking a whole-boat charter or individual berths. The southbound and northbound routes are priced similarly. Duration variation is built into the estimate — offshore passages do not run to a timetable.

Custom

Built from the programme — duration, content, and logistics. Requires a conversation before we can quote. Tell us what you want to achieve and we will come back with a proposal and a cost.

Extended Sea Trial

Priced by duration (minimum three days, recommended five to seven). Because sea trials run as private programmes — not shared — the pricing reflects exclusive use of the boat and coach for your goals.

A deposit is required to confirm a booking. The amount and timing depend on the programme — we confirm this when we send a quote.

Common questions

Why is pricing on request rather than listed?

Because the right price depends on what you are booking. A fixed price list would either overcharge short programmes or undervalue longer ones. We prefer to give you an accurate number based on your actual situation — and that takes one short conversation.

Is VAT included in the quoted price?

We will confirm VAT treatment in your quote. Applicable taxes depend on the flag, departure port, and nature of the programme. We do not quote surprise additions after the fact.

Can I pay in instalments?

In some cases, yes — particularly for longer programmes or early bookings. Mention this when you enquire and we will see what we can arrange.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation terms are part of the booking agreement and will be confirmed with your quote. We strongly recommend travel insurance that includes cancellation cover — offshore sailing programmes have fixed costs that we cannot recover if a booking is cancelled late.

Are there discounts for repeat bookings or groups?

For groups booking the whole boat, pricing is naturally more efficient per person than individual berths. Repeat booking arrangements can be discussed — mention it when you enquire.

Ready for a quote?

Tell us what you want to do, how many people, and your rough dates. We will come back with a clear price and availability confirmation — no obligation, no sales pressure.
